I am writing this at 7.30pm and it’s dark outside already, and it’s not even October yet. So while there is less time to spend outside, it does mean a chance to indulge in a few more home comforts – and I can handle that! The antidote to the darker days and cooling temperatures is a gorgeous scented candle (biased, me? As if) The best ones to choose for autumn are the ones that capture the essence of the changing seasons. You could go for something smokey, a pinch of cinnamon or pumpkin spice if that’s your flavour.
A chic looking candle always adds a touch of luxury to any room, and a flickering flame adds more than a hint of romance. Just don’t buy something beautiful and feel it is too good to burn – that’s not what candles are for, burn and enjoy! Here are a few of my favourites!
With notes of cologne, musk and a hint of cognac, Oakwood and Musk is an irresistible scent guaranteed to bring warmth and ambiance to your space. The delicate heart of iriswood, and clove add a sophisticated dimension to the sweet top of cognac and oak and musk base. Oakwood and Musk perfectly captures the comforts and ambiance of a local Irish pub. Capturing the feeling of warmth and joyful moments with loved ones.
Rosewood & Pear candle from Somas in County Cork at the southern tip of Ireland. Add an air of luxury with sensual top citrus notes before discovering a heart of pear, lavender, and amber. This sophisticated scent has been carefully blended to help you create a blissful, calming experience. Immerse in the alluring floral notes of blooming jasmine and freesia laying on a base of sandalwood and patchouli.
If you would rather have a diffuser, this could be the perfect autumnal choice. This handmade Cassis and Wild Fig Scented Reed Diffuser is a cosy classic, perfect for those chilly afternoons. This reed diffuser infuses sweet top notes of cherry and raspberry with a heart of wild fig and orris. The subtle base of cedarwood and coconut provide a platform for a warm, fruitful and sophisticated fragrance.
Bay Leaf and Bergamot Scented Soy Candle. With accords of fresh garden berries and citrus, balanced by the herbal heart notes of bay leaf and basil – Bay Leaf and Bergamot perfectly capture the fresh ambient feel of a herb garden on a sunny morning.
Bergamot comes from Citrus Bergamia, the bergamot orange, is a fragrant citrus fruit the size of an orange, with a yellow or green color similar to a lime, depending on ripeness.
